Such a gray day here in Miami today...

I for sure needed a bit of lightness this morning and that is why I decided to treat myself to the after Golden Globes re-run episode of Fashion Police. It was on E! at 7 AM so hubby and I had cereal with a side of pop culture.

I am sure most of you have heard who took beloved Joan Rivers spot in the show, but if you have not I will tell you: comedienne Kathy Griffin. The ginge from a very funny Hell.
I did not grow up with Joan as a comedian role model, for obvious reason her humor didn't translate well in Italy. I only found out about her when her actual persona was part of the cast of one of the many Shrek movies. So I documented myself and fell in love with such an incredible and formidable woman. She is the Jewish New yorker great aunt I wish I had as my godmother. Her life story and her comedic style are very similar: they always seemed to go terribly wrong but then she found the comic side of it all and she made you pee yourself with laughter. She was a pioneer and to date she remains the unsurpassed Empress of comedy.

I was quite excited about Kathy Griffin taking over the scepter at Fashion Police. Her stand up shows are very funny and it's amazing how she manages to transform her ADD and quite random thoughts into deliciously sinful jokes. She is an A-list wannabe to the core. Also she is the biggest fag-hag known to man kind and has been on more gay cruises than most of the actual homos.
In one word I find her divine.

Unfortunately I did not find her effort on Fashion Police as amusing as her one woman shows.
I was looking forward to her inappropriate jokes and quick whip. Instead I got a lot of chatter from Juliana Rancic (she was actually funnier than Kathy...) and only lukewarm comments from Miss Griffin. What happened to her acid tongue and relentless self-glorifying attitude? They were probably booted out of the show just like the poor George Kotsiopoulos (he has been replaced by yet another stylist turned into reality TV personality). In any case humor can also be spelled humour so it is all relative.

Ozzy's daughter turned into fashion designer Kelly Osbourne is the other one (together with Rancic) also from the original cast. Now, I understand that she has her own clothing line (and it is commendable that she makes all the garment in sizes from 0 to 24) and she has learned a lot about fashion. Although her comments are on point she should limit her criticism to how the dresses look and not slip in suggestions on how to improve a Chanel custom designed frock. Even the ugliest dress from Chanel still remains a Chanel. I love her hair though.

Since I feel the need to make Joan proud I will start taking pictures of fashion offenders (in my opinion at least) and share them with you.
Here is the first. She was dressed like this in line at Starbucks.

I see where she was going with it.
I wish she wouldn't have gone anywhere in it.
