Quietly living la vida loca.

So I guess the honey moon is over.
The corporate housing we were so excited about has already fallen short.
What a disappointment, we should split on the ground of irreconcilable differences. Just like a celebrity marriage. There isn't really anything wrong with either of us, but we can't find common ground.
As usual the environment plays a big role into this "menage". We could have been together forever if it wasn't for the careless attitude of the world that surrounds us. Our apartment and we, are just like Elizabeth Taylor and one of her 27 husbands: crazy for each other ( cuckoo crazy sometimes ) but drowned in the noise that inhabit our lives.
And by noise I don't mean the psychoanalytic interpretation of it. NO.
Just noise.
The sound, din, hubbub, clamor, racket, uproar, tumult, commotion, pandemonium, babel, hullabaloo that the bar/open air club in front of our building is generating.
A noise pollution that would sour even a relationship between the Dalai Lama and a member of the
International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night the show must go on. And get on. Pre-bank holidays evening included.
They start living la vida loca around midnight and by 3 AM they are ready to take over the whole Mary Brickell Village with a never ending Latin extravaganza. Even Charo would struggle to keep up.

Charo.

This is how they describe this establishment on their web site:

Inspired by life on a Caribbean island off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia and remixed with a passion for all things urban – food, street art, music, cocktails, people watching and more – our club is a captivating escape from the hustle and bustle of the vivacious city.  A haven for urbanites and world travelers alike to play or work by day or to mix and mingle in its high-energy sensory engaging spaces by night when the best dinner party in town comes to life; there can hardly be a better milieu anywhere in the world for mouth-watering urban comfort food, with a Latin/Caribbean flair of course, innovative cocktails, the best tunes the world has got to offer, enticing street art, indoor or al fresco dining. Our club is the result of a metamorphosis of two very distinct worlds converging into one – island and urban; a mix of vibes and elements that intertwine to create a welcoming and social gathering place.
It is a whole new dining experience to awaken your senses!

To be fair I was quite captivated by this presentation.
What they fail to include is the fact that their dance floor space is completely open air. Outside. Out of doors. Al Fresco. And let the music play. Let the good times roll.
Not only.
Since you need a Florida ID to get in ( allegedly ) of course they don't serve milk shakes only.
Ergo the booze level filling up the "urbanites" who are ready to mix and mingle is very elevated.
And drunk means, in the near totality of cases, very loud too. On top of the loud music the loud "urbanites". I heard a girl through double glazed window shouting her email address and twitter account to the lucky sailor who stole her heart and bought her the most mojotos. Classy world travelers. These people give a new meaning to "party animal".
They are party maniacs.
Get together brutes.
Bash devils.
Festivity monsters.
Shindig demons.
Shebang aficionados.
Winding connoisseurs.
( Please fell free to use any of these in your everyday life. Let's see witch one catches on. )

I have nothing against sincere fun, and "let's get shit-faced tonight guuuurls".
I grew up in an Italian household. We make as much noise when we get together for Sunday lunch. To make sure that Jesus and Virgin Mary hear us up in heaven. Also because we have "loud" in our genes. We Eat, Pray, Love loudly. Loud and proud.
But as good Catholics we do it behind CLOSED doors. Shut windows. Indoor. In domestic familiar surroundings. No matter how close we get to blowing up a vocal chord, we keep the parade inside the building.
That's all I am really asking to the Party Station Central. Put up some walls around your dance floor so that the whole Mary Brickell Village doesn't have to rave with you all night.
I know there is no solution for the drunken "urbanites" but a demonstration of good will is good enough for now. I will help putting the walls up...oh well I will supervise.

In the mean time I will be compelled to stuff my external acoustic meatus ( Wikipedia coached ) with earplugs. The box in witch they came warns me that I may damage my eardrum if not inserted or removed properly, but that is a risk that I am willing to take to salvage my beauty sleep. No pain no gain...

As the Dalai Lama said

"In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive vision" ( my vision is me sleeping for a solid night )
and
"Sleep is the best meditation".
Say no more Dalai.
Say no more.
Ciao for now.
